Internet Marketing Legacy

July 24th, 2008

Reward Rebel logo miniLast year I purchased the Internet Marketing Center’s ‘Insider Secrets To Marketing Your Business On The Internet’ (two A4 lever arch files and half a dozen CDs stuffed with information).

This is promoted under the name Derek Gehl, the renowned internet marketing entrepreneur and CEO of Internet Marketing Center, however, I kept encountering references to the same product being promoted as Corey Rudl’s. For some time, it remained a mystery how one product should be promoted as being first one person’s, then another’s.

Finally, I got around to some research, and here’s the first instalment of what I discovered.

Picture of Corey RudlCorey Nicholas Rudl hailed from La Jolla, California where, before beginning his business career, Rudl was a motocross driver, and in 2002 he won a Vancouver Molson Indy sports car event.

A pioneer of e-commerce, in 1994 Rudl started his first online business with just $25 capital!

He promoted his book, ‘Car Secrets Revealed’, online. He’d discovered that hood ornaments for Ferraris and Lamborghinis were popular targets for thieves, and so Rudl began selling inexpensive replacements, and for four years ran this business before giving it to his father.

In response to the demand for his advice, Rudl founded the Internet Marketing Center, where he taught techniques and strategies learned from his own experiences.

He certainly knew how to make money, and his legacy is to be found in the inspiration, training, and marketing tools still available to Internet Marketing apprentices all over the world. He has helped countless small business owners generate consistent income from using the internet to build their own online business.

Rudl maintained his success by testing new strategies on a daily basis. He developed the ability to forecast market trends and predict (if not create) the ‘next big’ success strategy. As a result of these accomplishments, his Internet Marketing course, ‘Insider Secrets to Marketing Your Business on the Internet’, is one of the most successful and useful ‘How To’ guides in print today, and many online business owners refer to it as the ‘Internet Marketing Bible’.

Tragically, Corey Rudl died, aged 34, on Thursday, June 2 of injuries sustained in a racing crash at the California Speedway in Fontana, California. According to the Associated Press, Rudl was a passenger in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, which went out of control, left the inside track, careened onto the grass, hit a barrier, and caught fire. Though Rudl was wearing a seat belt and helmet, he died at the scene of the crash. The driver was airlifted to Loma Linda Hospital, but died about an hour later.

So, what became of the Internet Marketing Center, and how does Derek Gehl feature in its future?

To be continued…..

I follow Internet marketing Center advice since about 2003. I mean, I wish I could have followed instead of jumping on the HYIP and Autosurf for money wagon for about 2+ years, because I almost lost my shirt (and a nicely embroidered thong) on there.

I’ve spent about a year and a half recovering from that losses and things are getting back on track month after month. Now I read Derek’s newsletter paying atention on what he says and and want to kick myself in the butt everytime I think about the time lost.

Re: To be continued. For how long are you planning to keep us on our toes? :)

P.S. Just kidding about that embroidered thong :P (it wasn’t embroidered) :D

Aw, and I had such a saucy image in my mind there!

I reckon IMC’s stuff is the most straightforward ‘IM by numbers’ out there.

I’ll try and string this out a bit, til I get a true flash of inspiration!

OK, you’ve peeked my interest. Nice way to leave us all hanging. You should write a suspense novel!

I really do want to find out how Derek Gehl fits into this puzzle you have left us with. My guess is that he was the VP of Corey Rudl’s enterprises. Don’t leave me hanging too long. :)
