Reward Rebel logo mini I am in celebratory mood. Why? Reward Rebel is basking in the glory of having attained a Google Page Rank of 2, and from little acorns….

The timing is amusing, as it has popped up like an exclamation mark at the end of my previous post!

Although I haven’t been considering quitting, I had been thinking about a subtle, discreet amendment to the site’s direction, as well as building on new keywords.

But no such thoughts are hovering now. A Page Rank is just what the site needed, to reassure myself and my readers that I’m a competent driver, and am steering in the right direction!

Whoop-diddly-doo!

Woohoo! That’s great!

I did notice a great difference when I first got a PR (I’m speaking of it like some kind of position :lol:). Suddenly, my blog wasn’t just one of these “die-overnight” blog but more. Loved it.

Good for you! I had two blogs ranked and one got PR back after being google-slapped! Not sure how that last blog is getting PR, but I’m not gonna complain…PR is hard to figure out! lol!

Like you said, Google has power over the internet. I got slapped from 2 to 0, for reasons I don’t even know.

Anyway, congratulations! It’s a big boost for a blog being monetized, advertisers will look for it surely. It might be a sign, your efforts are paying off! I’m happy for you. –Durano, done!

The Spitting Vessel has such solid content, and wonderful dry humour — the fact that it’s lost its PR is testament to the flaws in Google’s algorithm. (Ssshhhh, I don’t wanna say too much, walls have ears, and I wouldn’t want the big ‘G’ to think I’m ungrateful!)

Hi Layne! Just got back from solid celebrations. Woohoo!

I’m thrilled for you. If at all, I believe in my heart this site deserves at least a PR4. Seriously!

I felt the same way when I got back my PR from being slapped with PR0 from PR4. I thought it was good while it lasted– having PR. But I also figured it was headed that way. I took in too many sponsored posts. lol! But anyway, I was just too grateful, for my one month old blog to be given a PR4 back then was great. As unpredictable as big G is — I was more than thrilled really. After a month from being slapped came PR2. You know what I figured with all this cycle of giving and taking back of PR’s? I really ceased to care what the internet god has to say and be conscious of getting slapped again. I’m not gonna be dictated with anyone, even by the big G on how I should run my blog.

But I love PR all right, honestly. Because it betters my chances in contributing more in the family income.

Again, I know this site is worth more than a PR2 and I know your readers are thankful that you chose not throwing in that towel. I know I have a lot of things to learn still and its good that bloggers like us can learn from each other. (I’ve been around and I know there are a lot of haters out there, but there are also the good ones who I know could be of good influence in sparking up a person’s blogging career)

Take care Layne! I will be moving on to the grandest vacation I have had in the longest time and I know you’d agree with me when I say this is just the perfect time after having bagged that undeserved honor. Thanks for celebrating with me. It means a lot!

Thanks for all the kind words! You make a good point re PRs and who’s the boss — I’m pleased RR now has a PR, but it’s like when I got to the top of Entrecard’s IM category, the pressure is then ON to remain there!

The best advice I can really give you is spread throughout posts and comments on this blog.

But, in brief:
~ always respond to comments,
~ make your site search engine friendly,
~ deploy focused keywords.

The professional progression is Content, Traffic, Presell, Monetize. I’m still finding my own way!
