Hats off to Entrecard! Graham Langdon and his team have consistently refused to sit on their laurels, always taking on board feedback from service users, and continually implementing improvements. Entrecard is evolving into a major blogging network and online community.
A few days ago, came the announcement of a new partnership between Entrecard and SezWho, the popular and well-established blog commenting platform.
Reward Rebel enjoys a pretty satisfactory level of commenting, and yet there’s already been a noticeable increase since SezWho became part of the Entrecard equation.
Evidently bloggers value comments - and Entrecard Credits - very highly! And so, as part of Reward Rebel’s forthcoming first birthday celebrations, I’m going to backtrack over the comments here, and rate as many as time permits.
In fact, talk about excellent timing! I had already started to showcase my favourite posts to Entrecard visitors, and you’re invited to participate in Reward Rebel’s birthday bash by taking a moment while you’re here to rate any post or comment that you’ve enjoyed. After all, what goes around, comes around, and your turn will come!
Since its inception, Entrecard has helped launch many blogs, and has been a good friend to Reward Rebel. Bringing SezWho onboard will undoubtedly provide the icing on the cake.

Entrecard owners has great minds, they really developed a great script for bloggers, now a days i am learning a lot from other bloggers (while dropping cards) , all credit goes to Entrecard .

I’m pretty excited about this! I just activated SezWho on all my blogs except one…and I’m not sure why things have bogged down over that one. I figure it will work itself out in time…I’ll check back later tonight.
Another reason I like this is because it’s giving people incentive to slow down and leave comments…me included. I swear, there are times that I get waaayyy too much on my plate and I loose sight of why I love to blog…interacting with other bloggers around the world! Neat!

I think that the partnership between EC and Sez-Who is a fantastic idea. I’d never even heard of Sez-Who until EC joined up with them, and I really like their comment system.
EC always seems to be looking for the next great thing for bloggers, and my hat’s off to them for finding Sez-Who!

Its a very interesting combination to drive more comments to our blog. Make sure you install the Akismet spam blocker comments. My spam comments blocker catch 10 comments in just one day after this collaboration.

I will really look forward this new feature in Entrecard. It’s true, bloggers like us value comments highly. In fact, commenting (in my view) is one of the most important features in a blog because other people can express their ideas and own perspectives about your write-ups.

I’m looking forward to the development of a plugin for TypePad. So far, SezWho is very limited as to the blogging platforms it supports.
My big criticism is that I really don’t like the idea of commentators ranking each other’s comments. I think SezWho should automatically rank them somehow. Or maybe leave it up to the blog’s author.
Anyway, it has potential to be a useful tool…for those of you who can use it on your blogs.

So far, comments on my blogs have increased when I have time to drop Entrecards during the day. I’m not sure if I see the connection between Sez-Who and spam. In fact, I think spam has decreased since I installed Sez-Who. Of course, my spam comes in bursts. One day I get 20 the next day 0. I really need to look into how to install Askimet. The whole API idea has made me hesitant.

I haven’t seen a dramatic increase in comments since I’ve added SezWho to my blog. Although I have had about 4 extra comments this week. I think this move has changed Entrecard for the better. It moves Entrecard to more of a social media site than just an advertising network. Kudos to the team at Entrecard.

I find EntreCard to be very useful. I get to visit other blogs that I would never have found on my own.
At the same time, they reciprocate. I’m sure the same thing will happen with comments via SezWho.

Hi Laney, Thanks for writing about this. I found you through my bloglog and that’s how I learned about the partnership w/ Ec & Sezwho. I’m still on the fence about this I don’t see how this will encourage those who don’t comment in the first place to start commenting now. No doubt it will make those of us who already comment make more lengthy comments. For some reason a rating system just turns me off when it comes to commenting. Thanks, I’ll be doing a post on this and play a little devils advocate with some of my concerns. lol

RR does have Akismet installed, and I haven’t (yet) experienced an increase in spam caught. Fingers firmly crossed!

Yep, I totally agree about the importance of comments, and how they complete a post. I’m always drastically disappointed if no-one joins in.

You make a good point about commenters or SezWho rating the comments, as how they are ranked very much depends on the level of input of a site’s readership. I’m giving it a shot, anyway.

Isn’t your blog Wordpress? If so, it should have Akismet already installed and just requiring activation. Getting the API key is dead simple, and it’s well worth having the protection for your site.

I’m doing the ‘wait and see’ thing with the new Entrecard Toolbar, as I have some recent new concerns about viruses being transmitted via dropping on EC sites.

I agree that the partnership makes Entrecard more of a complete package, after all, one doesn’t have to install and use SezWho.

As well as the increase in traffic to one’s blog, there is the enjoyment of visiting sites you may never have encountered otherwise.
