I think in our every day lives it's hard to accept change. There have been lots of times in my life when I didn't want change and then after the fact I was glad I embraced it. Great post, RR. :)

Durano -
Very valid distinction. People fear change for all sorts of reasons, whether it's the change itself, how they'll cope, what its impact will be. Some folk miss out on so much, because they are afraid, and consequently go through life as a spectator, instead of a participant.

Welcome back Reward Rebel,

Change is the inevitable process that leads to success and happiness. If there were no changes, life would be a boring routine. No new goals, no new methods, no new excitement, and no new characters to meet. Perhaps it's not fear of change that people fear but failure to cope with the change.

The change is there, it's not to be feared; it's their assessment of themselves or self worth that denies moving towards the change. Thus, people have to believe in themselves to welcome change - and have success and happiness.:-)--Durano, done!

Zhu -
Ain't we complex critters? Your mention of products and services, reminds me of how irritating it is when you've found a product that you adore, and they decide to bring out a 'new and improved' version (in other words, they ruin it).

Still you can't let the bastards get you down;-D

Change is scary yet usually rewarding. I don't mind changing things I can kind of control (like my lifestyle, the place I live etc.) but I find it harder to accept new products or services. I'm always a bit reluctant to change in this way... weird eh?

Marcus -
Wow, thanks. "Feel the fear, and do it anyway" certainly beats the pants off "when I've done this, then I'll do that" ;-D

Constant change and the "do it anyway" attitude... isn't this something we blindly accepted as a child? We always sought after improvements, adventures, reaching goals, moving forward step-by-step,...

Funny how we handle all that stuff as an adult, isn't it?

I like the "do it anyway" attitude still. Or, "You have to do it anyway, so do it now so it's out of your head."

The "do it anyway" attitude gave me the power to step in front of the camera at first. It gave me the courage to be the first test candidate in assessment centers. It gave me the confidence of doing a wonderful job, letting my concern of incompleteness and imperfection disappear.

Great, great stuff your article, RR. :-)
