Link Building And Ice Cream!
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Entrecard is the first ‘web happening’ of which I’ve been a component, and for long enough to have witnessed its growth and impact on the blogosphere. Without a doubt, Entrecard’s rise has been meteoric, and I’ve often mentioned it’s been a good friend to not only Reward Rebel, but many new and developing online business websites.
Traffic exchanges can generate additional visitors to a squeeze page or splash page, but they are not the right medium for blog promotion.
In May Reward Rebel attained a Google PR2, and I wrote a post in which I expressed my gratitude to Entrecard for having contributed. Blog Badly and IM David Lee disputed that Entrecard would affect a site’s Page Rank.
I explained that when I refer to Entrecard, usually I am talking about the Entrecard Community. The network of people who are the bloggers and web masters behind all the virtual architecture.
It is the Entrecard Community which has
• significantly ramped up this site’s traffic stats
• added to its RSS subscribers
• increased the ratio of comments
• built back-links, and
• introduced prospective joint venture partners.
Entrecard has also improved
• Reward Rebel’s Technorati Authority,
• Alexa Traffic Rank and, by so doing,
• Google PR2 attained.
(Now folks, could you all start working on Digg, StumbleUpon and Reddit, please?)
Of course, the icing on the cake is that I’ve made friends who otherwise would never have graced my life. (Just a sec, I need to wipe away a tear.)
If you’d like to give a shout out for Entrecard, I’d love to hear what this extraordinary community of bloggers has done for you!
My special thanks to Reward Rebel’s Top Entrecard Droppers for July, who are:
Regretful Morning
Chica & Pumuckl
Technically Easy
On The Bricks
Amy Lilley Designs
Majik’s Thoughts
Turnip of Power
Personal Finance Management Guide
E-Business Ideas
The Path to the Pegasus Letter
If you belong to Entrecard, go click ‘em and drop your card… tell ‘em, Reward Rebel sent you!
That takes care of the link building, so what about the ice cream? Well, I’ve just consumed an entire 500ml tub of Häägen Dazs Pralines & Cream while I was writing this piece! Hmmm, think there’s a chance my next blog will be about weight loss!
Good luck with your internet marketing adventure — make sure you enjoy what you’re doing and you’ll surely enjoy success!

Traffic Geyser 14 Days For $1
Today, I received an email promoting a 14 Day Trial of Traffic Geyser for just $1, yep, just one dollar.
Traffic Geyser helps you create, promote and distribute your videos, but if you haven’t heard of them before, here’s the link to the offer page, and I urge you to check it out.
I signed-up because at that price, it’s worth seeing whether it’s a program I can put to use. After all, I have a digital (video) camera, a web cam, Camtasia and Photoshop, all the tools I need to generate visual ingredients for video. Although with this program’s toolkit, you don’t even need a camera!
This isn’t an affiliate promotion, it’s simply a good deal that I thought you could benefit from hearing about.
Have a happy video adventure!

Traffic Rush Hour
A quick post to announce recent improvements to Reward Rebel, courtesy of the installation of the following Wordpress Plugins.
- Do Follow When a reader comments on a post, their blog benefits.
- Comment Luv When a reader comments on a post, this clever device displays a link to their most recent blog post.
- Subscribe to Comments When a reader comments on a post, they can opt to be emailed any follow-up comments.
- CFormsII - although I’ve created a ‘Contact Me’ page, I’m still having some teething difficulties, and temporarily at the stage of ‘staring at the customisation options, scratching my head in a bewildered fashion’.
- 4 Avatars When a reader comments on a post, their avatar appears alongside. In grateful appreciation for this plugin, here’s a lil link love to Jessie Simbulan on whose blog you’ll find engaging articles and helpful tips.
Watch this space;-D

Entrecard Rides Again
Entrecard Rides Again
A couple of weeks ago, I started to write a review of each of my Top Ten Entrecard Droppers, and got as far as doing the first two, but then made a deliberate decision not to post about it again without allowing a respectable interval, in which other subject matter is aired.
Graphs and comparison charts have been designed, and many articles have been written about Entrecard, and I myself have posted about it on several occasions. Since signing up, there’s no doubt Reward Rebel has enjoyed considerably more traffic, and a proliferation of comments has mushroomed.
Entrecard delivers results in direct proportion to the amount of effort invested, and is a true friend to the new blogger. It’s a well-balanced service, and knowing the enthusiasm of its users, I’m fascinated to see what the future holds for its development.
It would be helpful if Entrecard allowed users to access full statistics instead of the summary that’s available. When planning advertising, it’s not at all helpful to refer to the click thru rates of your ten best advertising campaigns when one figure is the result for a solo ad, and another is the total for several, but Entrecard makes no distinction.
Since the data is collected anyway, I don’t understand why we can’t access it. Unless perhaps Entrecard intends to introduce a two-tier structure, with full accessibility being a benefit of a paid upgrade.
If you’d enjoy reading a more detailed article that covers every aspect of the Entrecard community, you’ll find the definitive review The Economy of Entrecard – Worth It or Worthless? at JT Pratt’s Blogging Mistakes, a site filled with useful information and helpful insights, as well as finding time to offer assistance and encouragement to the less experienced blogger.
John has also launched a new initiative enabling blog authors to contact one another with a view to exchanging content. This is a wonderful idea, and many have already signed up. You can read further details about this new venture at Content Exchange
Finally, today I came across an interesting little script to help speed up your Entrecard dropping experience. You can download the Entrecard Site Opener from TechiePortal.com a site harbouring many more unusual devices to make life a little simpler.
The adventure is gaining pace!

Generate Traffic Using Only Free Methods
Generate Traffic Using Only Free Methods
Putting up a company would of course require a lot of things, to get straight to the point, you need capital. To make money requires money, as well. But of course, with the versatility the internet offers, there are many ways you can find that could help optimize the potential of your site or business in generating traffic.
While there are ways to jumpstart your traffic flows, many sites don’t have the resources that others have to generate more traffic for your site. Well, you don’t have to spend a cent; all you need is the proper mindset and a lot of eagerness. You also must have the drive and perseverance to do hard work and research to generate more traffic for your site.
How sweet it is to have more traffic for your site without spending a single cent. Now it’s a sure thing that many sites have articles that offer tips and guidelines in how to generate traffic using only free methods. Because it is possible, you don’t need to speed a single cent, it may take time, to say honestly, I’m not going to beat around the bush with you. You get better chances by paying for your advertisements, but at least you get a fighting chance with some of these free methods I’m about to tell you.
Take advantage of online forums and online communities. The great thing about forums and online communities is that you can target a certain group that fits the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer. Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.
With online communities and forums you can build a reputation for your company. Show them what you are made of and wow them with your range of expertise about the subject, with that you can build a reputation and build trust with the people in your expertise and knowledge.
You can also make use of newsletters. Provide people with a catalog of your products and interesting and entertaining articles. If you make it really interesting and entertaining, more people will sign up for your newsletter and recommend it to other people. The more people who signs up for your newsletter, the more people there will be that will go to your site increasing your traffic.
Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster. With exchanging links, the efforts both sites do will benefit both sites. Every traffic that goes to the site could potentially click on the link of your site and visit your site as well. This works well especially when both sites feature the same niche.
Write articles that could pique the attention of people that have interest in your product. Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Writing articles that provide good service and knowledge to other people would provide the necessary mileage your traffic flow needs. Many sites offer free submission and posting of your articles. When people find interest in your articles they have a good chance of following the track by finding out where the article originated. Include a link or a brief description of your company with the article and there’s a great probability that they will go to your site.
Write good content for your site. Many search engines track down the keywords and keyword phrases your site uses and how they are used. It is not a requirement that a content should be done by a professional content writer. You could do your on but you have to make content for your site that is entertaining as well as informational. It should provide certain requirements as well as great quality.
Generally, internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for. Search engines in return use keyword searching in aiding their search results. With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without the costs.
All of these methods and more will drive more traffic to your site for free. All it takes is a bit of effort and extended man hours. Learn all you can about the methods depicted here and you will soon have a site with a great traffic flow without the usual costs that come with it.
Enjoy the adventure,
Reward Rebel

Methods Of Generating More Traffic
Methods Of Generating More Traffic
One of the most common challenges of website owners is attracting traffic… without traffic, a website barely exists, and we shouldn’t even talk about profit. We’ll try to see here the most important steps to attract targeted traffic.
Beginners in internet marketing usually make the mistake of wanting any kind of traffic and, consequently, get involved in programs that offer tens of thousands of hits to their site, but most of these will be blind hits. This kind of apparent success with lots of traffic, followed by an absence of sales can be seriously demotivating, and can lead to people giving up all attempts at making a living with internet marketing strategies.
For those who try to salvage something positive from their experience, the lesson is clear. A website needs targeted traffic. Surfing in from a traffic exchange does NOT result in sales. Period.
Traffic exchanges do have their place, and can be a great technique for featuring your squeeze page(s). A squeeze page loads quickly, blasts a quick message to the viewer, and asks them to optin to receive a free report or ebook. In exchange, they give you their name and email address. A list is born!
Lets take a look at some of the steps to increase your website traffic:
1. Affiliate programs
This is far and away the most productive method of growing your list and driving traffic to your site. An affiliate program for your product will mean other people are doing all the hard work… advertising with pay per click, and promoting to their list, which means you’ll gain a proportion of their list members on your own list! At the same time, you profit from the income from the immediate sale or, if you’re using a $7 script where the affiliate earns 100% of the cover price, on the upsell.
2. Adding content
Adding high quality content to your site is an ideal method of attracting targeted visitors. Search engines provide the highest position to the most relevant site for the given keyword. So your content must be well-thought, containing the keywords for the items you are selling or promoting, whilst remaining easy to read.
3. Creating content materials
While you search for material to add to your site, others are searching for sites that publish content. Creating some article or newsletter will allow you to add it immediately to your site, but you can also give it to others along with a link to your site.
4. RSS feeds
Embedding RSS feeds in your web pages is an excellent technique to generate frequently updated content on your website, in turn fresh content will result in search engines ranking your web pages higher.
5. Publishing through Ezines
A good way to achieve a number of loyal visitors is to publish an ezine to your list, however big your list is. The sooner you strike up a relationship with your evolving mailing list, the sooner you will be in a position to monetize it.
But don’t try to sell products to people immediately in your email campaigns. Publishing quality information in the sent emails will give a boost to your credibility and will also help build a serious following of loyal readers.
6. Pay per Click Search Engines
When using search engine pay per click ads, you will pay to increase your rank for various keywords used in searches. If the keywords are chosen properly, you will be paying only for the visitors your are interested in.
Be warned, you can lose a lot of money here. Be very careful with the precision of your keywords, or end up paying a fortune for clicks that don’t convert into sales. Pay per click is where laser targeted traffic is MOST important.Good luck with all your traffic generating efforts.
Enjoy the adventure,
Reward Rebel
