The Art Of Internet Marketing Promotion
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Finally, I’ve received the first couple of Derek Gehl videos of the 4 Day Build-a-Biz Challenge.
I’ve been a fan of Derek Gehl from when I first began researching internet marketing and making money online. He is the millionaire CEO of the Internet Marketing Center, and qualifies as an ‘internet marketing guru’, and I’m not generally a fan of the IM guru.
However, I have some excellent IM training manuals from the Internet Marketing Center, and they cost me very little (although I got collared for $120 customs duty, it was STILL a good deal!), so I don’t like to knock the man or his company.
Internet marketing gurus don’t spend their time and money on projects in which there isn’t an investment in the bigger picture. After all, this is how they have become millionaires — boy, can I be naïve sometimes!
Of course, the 4 Day Build-a-Biz Challenge is a vehicle for promoting a new product. Derek is using new software called Bebiz that enables the entrepreneur to create an online business from scratch.
So far, I’ve only watched the first video, and am disappointed. I’d hoped to witness Derek conducting his niche-identifying market research via the routes we are familiar with, like Google Labs, Amazon database scrutiny, Yahoo Answers, forum foraging, and then see him develop his keyword list.
But every step of the creation of his new online business is accomplished via the new software, in which I don’t have the slightest interest.
I’m not particularly keen to watch the remaining videos, but I’ll try to fit them in, just to be fair, as I started this ball rolling, and should see where it winds up.
Sorry there are no wonderful internet marketing revelations!

Making Money Online: Rinse And Repeat
Making Money Online: Rinse And Repeat
Products teaching Internet Marketing and Making Money Online are in plentiful supply. What surprises me is that so many of each week’s new launches have been written, developed or sourced by the same comparatively small group of online entrepreneurs.
Stop. Rewind. What am I saying? I’m not surprised.
These entrepreneurs tell us that they’ve worked countless hours developing the latest and greatest, for no reason other than that they’re fed up with seeing us – the ordinary guy making money online – given so much of the internet marketing picture, and then being hung out to dry. Altruism at its most heroic. What? Hasn’t it warmed the cockles of your heart?

Of course, these are the same internet marketing entrepreneurs who refer to a mailing list as a personal ATM, because they can withdraw money from it whenever they choose. They practically tell you to your face that they take you for a sucker, and such a stupid sucker that they can even tell you that they are doing it! I don’t think this is the type of online entrepreneur that I aspire to be.
Each new internet marketing product launched promises to be the one that will teach me everything I’ll need to know. They enthusiastically inform me that I require no technical know-how, copy writing skills, or indeed a functioning brain. Then they attempt to dispel any lingering doubts that I may be harbouring about my ability to undertake an online business venture.
Ker-Ching! Here’s the Paypal button!
Ker-Ching! Give us your hard earned!
Fast forward two to three months. The same entrepreneur emails me with their latest product, which promises to lead me by the hand to that villa in the Caribbean, before I can say… hold on. If their previous product was so mind-blowingly awesome, why would I be in need of another one?
Of course, in between times, there’s been a relentless deluge of email promos vomiting into my Inbox, which are about the “you can’t live without ‘em” latest and greatest offerings from the entrepreneur’s internet marketing friends. Somehow, they’re convinced that I won’t want to be without this product either, even though I may already have their own version of the same thing.
Fortunately, there exists a wide variety of methods of making money online, because in my opinion affiliate marketing has hit an all-time low. So many people are trying to jump on the bandwagon, it’s drowning in its own tsunami of hype and insincerity.
Making money online isn’t as easy as it used to be. Making money online in an ethical and dignified fashion appears to be the most difficult objective of all to achieve. But, dear god, if I ever start turning into one of these internet marketing leeches, I’ll flick off the switch on the modem for the last time.
I’m not a guru basher, well OK, I’m not usually a guru basher, well, apart from when I got a bit enrantified and wrote:
• Gurus Mutual Appreciation Society
and then I wrote,
Perhaps it’s best if I draw this to a close, after all, my adventure may find me networking with these very same internet marketing gurus at some point in the not-too-distant future!
So, mum’s the word…

Niche Marketing and Comics
Niche Narketing and Comics
Some of my readers may be wondering if I posted the last entry to the wrong blog! No, I know what I’m doing… hang on, no I don’t know what I’m doing half the time, but I have a fair inkling the other half.
My internet marketing adventure has taken me down a number of different avenues, as I research topics with a view to niche marketing. It occurred to me that if I include one or two stories from en route, it may spice up Reward Rebel’s recipe to suit a broader range of palettes.
It may also help people come up with some new ideas for niche marketing projects of their own.
Of course, on the other hand, it may totally put off my current readers, but if we don’t try something new, how can we ever know whether or not it would’ve been successful!
Enjoy the adventure.

How To Start An Online Business
You’ll want to see whether or not there is a great deal of competition out there because this could affect your decision to get into that particular field. When you are deciding to start an online business, you usually want to look for a field in which there is less competition so that you can come in with cheap, but effective, marketing and dominate that niche. It is often easier to be a big fish in a small pond rather than a small fish in a big pond.
There are many different techniques by which you can make money on a website, and this article will introduce you to some of them. You can decide to sell products online, which you can find through wholesale distributors. You are able to advertise on your website and sell advertising using programs such as Google Adsense. You can even sell your products through store fronts at either Yahoo, eBay, or Amazon websites.
Another key when you are looking at how to start an online business, is to make sure that you are continually testing and retesting your website. Once you design your website, you cannot sit back and wait for the sales to comment. You want to test and retest the difference ways in which you have your pages and website built to make sure that you are taking advantage of the traffic coming into your website. If you do not do this, you are leaving money on the table.
The final key when looking at how to start an online business is how you decide to market your website. There are many companies which you are able to buy traffic from at a very cheap price and this can be a good way to supplement your natural search engine traffic.
The way to build natural search engine traffic is through content and developing back links. Back links are links from other websites to yours so that when search engine search bots are indexing web pages, they will find the links to your web site and index your pages.
If you work on finding and under-served niche, it is easier to pay for traffic bought from Internet marketing firms as well as move your way up in the natural search engine pages. You want to make sure that you are developing both a good site and its contents of the people will want to read what they find and then continually return to your website.
At first… play. Surf around the relevant sites to find out what people are talking about, dig deeper into these topics, then see what products exist that could satisfy the need
This is a simple formula in your search on how to start an online business.
While you’re doing it, remember to enjoy the adventure!
