Link Building With Comments On Do Follow Blogs

November 1st, 2008 Comments (82)

Reward Rebel logo miniWhen you leave a comment on a Do Follow blog, with the intention of building back links to your own site, the following checklist will help ensure you gain the maximum benefit from your investment of time, effort and intellect.

Ensure that your target blog:

  • is Do Follow, that is, it removes the ‘nofollow’ links attribute
  • has a Google Page Rank – the higher, the better
  • is in the same niche market as the website you’re back linking to.

A less well known approach when you comment on a blog that includes the above attributes is to:

  • comment on a specific web page that has, in its own right, acquired a Google Page Rank, because rumour has it that Google values such individual page rank more highly than the PR of the site as a whole or the site’s home page.

Don’t feel guilty about approaching comments so cold-bloodedly.  Remember to bear in mind that this method of link building benefits both sides of the equation, one gains a comment and the other gains a back link.

Quid pro quo.

Entrecard Top Droppers September

October 3rd, 2008 Comments (5)

Reward Rebel logo miniSeptember has been a crazy month, and Reward Rebel has been a little neglected.  The Entrecard daily drops quota has been maintained with the assistance of my partner - I’m now promoting three websites, and the administration tasks have proliferated!

I’m especially grateful to September’s top Entrecard droppers, because sparkling, fresh content won’t have been your reason for dropping by!  Since I recorded the Entrecard statistics’ list of top droppers, there’s been a slight change in the sites appearing, and rather than omit anyone, you’ve all been queued for a lil link building love!

Recent developments on Entrecard have shaken things up a bit, and I’ve noticed that there are more ‘No such user’ notices appearing when I click on a widget.

The forthcoming months will be interesting, particularly, how Entrecard develops from here. The newly introduced enforceable EC credit exchange rate will restrict the reach of my own advertising on the network, as $6 per thousand credits is more than triple the $1.7 and $1.8 per thousand, I’ve been paying.

I understand the long-term sense of stabilising the value of the EC credit, and hope that these developments on Entrecard serve to improve the community, and the potential it offers bloggers.

Watch this space………

All You Need Is Link Love

September 4th, 2008 Comments (10)

Reward Rebel para logoThis past month has been an exceptionally busy and exciting one - I’ve launched a new website, Crete Delights, as well as started development of a personal journal, which is still under wraps.

Something I’ve been thrilled to discover, as an offshoot of launching a new website, is that I’ve been working on lots of new content for Reward Rebel simply by writing about the issues that arise from the development of another site! As South Park’s Cartman would say, “S-w-e-e-e-t!”

So, while on the one hand I have more work, on the other, generating fresh content seems to be easier and more prolific.

My special thanks, for continued patronage of Reward Rebel this month, go to August’s top ten Entrecard droppers.

Link Building And Ice Cream!

August 1st, 2008 Comments (16)

RR logo miniEntrecard is the first ‘web happening’ of which I’ve been a component, and for long enough to have witnessed its growth and impact on the blogosphere. Without a doubt, Entrecard’s rise has been meteoric, and I’ve often mentioned it’s been a good friend to not only Reward Rebel, but many new and developing online business websites.

Traffic exchanges can generate additional visitors to a squeeze page or splash page, but they are not the right medium for blog promotion.

In May Reward Rebel attained a Google PR2, and I wrote a post in which I expressed my gratitude to Entrecard for having contributed. Blog Badly and IM David Lee disputed that Entrecard would affect a site’s Page Rank.

I explained that when I refer to Entrecard, usually I am talking about the Entrecard Community. The network of people who are the bloggers and web masters behind all the virtual architecture.

It is the Entrecard Community which has
• significantly ramped up this site’s traffic stats
• added to its RSS subscribers
• increased the ratio of comments
• built back-links, and
• introduced prospective joint venture partners.

Entrecard has also improved
• Reward Rebel’s Technorati Authority,
• Alexa Traffic Rank and, by so doing,
• Google PR2 attained.
(Now folks, could you all start working on Digg, StumbleUpon and Reddit, please?)

Of course, the icing on the cake is that I’ve made friends who otherwise would never have graced my life. (Just a sec, I need to wipe away a tear.)

If you’d like to give a shout out for Entrecard, I’d love to hear what this extraordinary community of bloggers has done for you!

My special thanks to Reward Rebel’s Top Entrecard Droppers for July, who are:

That takes care of the link building, so what about the ice cream? Well, I’ve just consumed an entire 500ml tub of Häägen Dazs Pralines & Cream while I was writing this piece! Hmmm, think there’s a chance my next blog will be about weight loss!

Good luck with your internet marketing adventure — make sure you enjoy what you’re doing and you’ll surely enjoy success!

Entrecard Link Love

June 1st, 2008 Comments (23)

Reward Rebel logo miniInternet Marketing has featured in my life for about 14 months now, and it’s passed so quickly. I remember reading about people working for a year to make money online, and quitting when they still hadn’t generated their first sale! I couldn’t understand why anyone would dedicate twelve months to learning something new - especially something with such life-changing potential - and then chuck it in!

If anything, I’m now more determined than ever because I’ve invested a year of my life in studying internet marketing and acquiring the skills to shape my future and live the life I aspire to. OK, I’m not making a fortune online… yet. But I appreciate that it takes time to build an internet business, it takes time to build anything worthwhile.

As we bid farewell to May and warmly embrace June, it’s appropriate to shout out a big “thank you” to Reward Rebel’s current Top Entrecard Droppers.

I’m grateful to everyone who takes the time to drop their Entrecard on Reward Rebel, but to appear in this list, you know what you have to do, don’t you?

Comments Curiosity

April 24th, 2008 Comments (61)

Reward Rebel logo miniI’ve encountered quite a few blogs that enthusiastically invite readers to comment, and when a readers does, their contribution isn’t acknowledged or responded to.

On one occasion, the blog author actually asked his readers what it was he was doing wrong, and why people weren’t leaving comments on his site!

Witnessing a lively discussion taking place on a website encourages readers to get involved, a blog author who doesn’t engage in the discussion does the opposite, and discourages participation.

I find this lack of communication difficult to comprehend, but that’s probably because I’m a control freak for whom it’s impossible to ignore a comment — I have to have the final word!

Do you treat comments to your own site like you’d treat a real-life discussion? Do you respond? Or perhaps your site receives comments in such high numbers, it’s impossible to respond to each of them?

Do you expect a response when you’re the one commenting?

How often would any of us engage in comments and responses, if we didn’t all need back-links to our own sites?
