A New Adventure Beckons

December 31st, 2007

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Looking back over 2007, I’m stunned at the difference in my life as a result of the new skills I’ve mastered and expertise I’ve acquired. The year ahead is filled with exciting plans and slightly scarey challenges, but feel the fear and do it anyway!

My objective for 2008 is to move our home to the Greek island of Crete. From the very beginning, when I first began researching online money making activities, it was because we want to live on this beautiful island amongst the warm and friendly Cretan people.

Initially, when I drew up a list of criteria for my new business, the requirements were simple and straightforward — no staff, no physical product, and can be operated from anywhere in the world via a laptop and an internet connection.

Well, we’re under way, there’s a long haul ahead, but ooh, it’s exciting and thrilling… it’s my adventure and I’m gonna enjoy it!

Make sure you enjoy your own adventure… happy trails to you and yours, always and forever, but especially during the new year ahead. Happy 2008!

Merry Christmas to Everyone

December 24th, 2007

Merry Christmas to Everyone

'After Christmas' Tree It’s Christmas morning here in the UK… 3.42am to be precise. I haven’t been to bed yet, but I’m always prowling around in the spookily quiet, wee hours. Tee hee.

Actually, I was waiting up for Santa Claus, but no show yet.

I’ll just take this opportunity to wish all of you a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

P.S. Finally took a photo of the xmas tree all lit up, cos I’m just about to dismantle it. Christmas is over and done for another year, and a new trail opens up before us …

A little over a month ago, I purchased Rob Benwell’s “Blogging To The Bank 2.0“, and the bonuses include “Blogging to the Bank 1.0″ plus a fistful of excellent tips both ‘white hat’ and ‘black hat’.

This is one of the best internet marketing publications I’ve invested in, and is exceptional value at $47, however, as a Thanksgiving Special (?) Rob is offering the package at deceptively low price of $19.97.

If you want to know how to make money online, you’d be bonkers not to buy this title, it’s really that good, and it carries a full money back guarantee, valid for 8 weeks, so if you’re not convinced you’ve lost nothing.

In order to test the information, I created a quick Blogger.com blog on a niche topic… followed Rob’s instructions, and utilized social bookmarking networks. Later that day, around 4 hours later, I searched the main keyword on Google, and there was my new blog in all it’s glory, surrounded by numerous links to it from the entries posted to the social media.

This has been the most massive result I’ve enjoyed from experimentation with techniques offered by the ‘experts’, and it helped to reaffirm my resolve, which was wavering at the time.

Rob’s presentation may not be the most professional in appearance, and his spelling and grammar leave a lot to be desired, but what’s undeniable is the high quality information he provides.

These days, populating blog blank space with Adsense appears to be de rigueur, but for quite a while I couldn’t be arsed to figure it out. Saved by Rob’s book! Once again it had bailed me out with straightforward explanations and well illustrated instruction.

When I read “Blogging To The Bank 2.0“, my enthusiasm for the entire internet marketing arena had been taking a serious nose dive. But seeing such immediate results from the input, has rekindled my enthusiasm, and I can once again face the email vomit-a-thon taking place in my Inbox. So I’m off now to continue building my empire;-D

If you have $19.97 to spare, do yourself a BIG favour and buy “Blogging to the Bank 2.0“… NOW!

And enjoy your adventure even more,

Sneaky Pete Doesn’t Live Here

December 15th, 2007

Sneaky Pete Doesn’t Live Here

Don’t be tempted to employ duplicitous internet marketing tactics, because in the long term, you will regret doing so. Can You Identify Sneaky Pete?

Perhaps you have already received one or two promotional sales emails bearing a subject line like, “you’ve earned $350”.

The IM is blatantly attempting to trick recipients into opening the email under the impression that they’ve made some money — we can take it as read, this will be a tactic targeted at newbie marketers — and when opened, and you start to read on, the message continues , “would you like to receive multiple emails with this subject line?”.

The sender is pressing your, and my, buttons… DON’T be an internet marketing sneak!

In the short-term, perhaps such techniques bring in a few bucks, I wouldn’t know because I don’t use shifty methods to do business. However, I do know that in the long term, you will not build a strong and profitable business if it’s founded on trickery and lies.

In the main, other than promoting one’s own product, the big money to be made online is by affiliate email-outs, but however many customers and prospects you’ve accumulated, they will not be responsive to your efforts if you’ve appeared to be sneaky and a liar.

Don’t allow any of this to spoil your enjoyment of the adventure.

Time is an Illusion

December 15th, 2007

Time is an Illusion

Recently I’ve rediscovered how prone I am to thinking I’m working hard, spending lots and lots of time tap-tap-tapping away on my PC or laptop, to be instantly deflated when I assess precisely what I’ve accomplished, only to find it’s not very much at all!

What’s worse is that the more time I’ve thought I had available to spend on a project, the less I’ve gotten done in proportion to the time spent on it! Under pressure...I need to practically see my skin bruising from the pressure I’m under, before I’ll get my ass in gear and buckle down to REAL work.

It’s not due to laziness, or lack of motivation. No, it’s because of a mighty powerful — occasionally all-consuming — inclination to distraction, usually by something worthy enough, just not essential to the immediate agenda.

Do you hear any bells ringing? I know I’m not alone, and if you know how to conquer this demon, I’d be delighted to hear about it.

Until I succeed in overcoming this time-devouring indulgence, the luxury of having plenty of time to complete a task will remain a beautiful illusion, however much time I think I have to do the job, I won’t start working in earnest until time is tight!

Pressed for time or not… always enjoy the adventure.
